During a career in business journalism, he has won awards for both reporting and editing and built a track record of product innovation having lead numerous newspaper, magazine and website launches and relaunches. In addition to his specialist knowledge of maritime commerce, he has also been a Correspondent for the Reuters news agency, written for national newspapers and magazines, and made television and radio appearances. Away from the office, a love of the natural work often takes him to wild and mountainous regions to walk, cycle, climb and watch wildlife with family and friends. He also has a passionate interest in politics, culture and music.

Logan joined BNP Paribas in July 2007, in charge of China shipping market. He was the Head of Shipping Finance, Asia Pacific and Maritime Sector Head, Asia in Societe Generale, directly reporting to the CEO of Asia Pacific, before he joined BNP Paribas. Logan has been in Societe Generale for 12 years, and has over 25 years banking experience in structured finance, including 5 years in aircraft financing (US double-dip tax leasing), over 20 year experience in shipping finance and shipping client relationship coverage in the region. Logan is a frequent veteran speaker in various shipping conferences and seminars, including the recent one held at the end of Oct by China EXIM Bank at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. He is the pioneer in structured finance in Asia. Logan successfully closed the first UK tax lease in Asia for COSCO in 1998, and brought in the first French tax lease to China market in 2006. He structured the first off-balance sheet financing for Chinese client in 2001, which was later on widely used by other international banks.

Paul is a banking and finance lawyer based in Tokyo, focusing on the shipping and offshore sectors. He acts for commercial banks, ECAs and sponsors in the financing of all manner of ships and offshore units using various financing structures, including complex cross-border project and asset-based leasing and debt facilities. Paul also has considerable experience drafting and negotiating commercial shipping agreements, including shipbuilding contracts and charterparties, and advising on the sale and purchase of ships, ship-owning companies and distressed shipping loans, acting for ship owners, charterers and financiers. Before joining the Tokyo office in 2010, Paul spent time in London and Singapore with a well-known international shipping law firm and on secondment to the Asia Shipping Desk of a leading bank in Hong Kong.

Mr. Konstantinos (Costas) Delaportas, has more than 15 years of experience and is heading the operation, commercial and chartering departments in Meadway Group of companies. Over the last years Costas has significantly attributed to the company’s expansion by building, amongst others, strong relationships with the Japanese market. In May 2011, Costas has established Meadway’s operating arm in Singapore (Meadway Shipping Singapore Pte. Ltd.) which has developed into a leading operator of dry bulk cargoes and vessels with trading activities all over the world having shipped more than 40 million mts of dry bulk cargoes since its establishment. Most recently, in July 2018, Costas has set up Meadway’s Dubai office (Meadway Shipping DMCC) with a focus to gain a strong presence in the Middle East region. Mr. Konstantinos Delaportas holds a Degree of Higher Education from the London Guildhall University in Commercial Operation of Shipping. He also holds professional qualification and full membership at the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
 
James Frew

James Frew has more than ten years of experience of analysing maritime markets, and leads MSI’s delivery of bespoke consultancy and research projects across shipping sectors. He is regularly invited to speak at international conferences, executive and company board meetings, as well as serving as an expert witness in legal disputes and restructurings. Since joining MSI in 2010, James has enhanced MSI’s container sector services and regularly advises clients on market strategies and asset portfolios. James was also responsible for establishing MSI’s offshore sector services in 2011, and has subsequently overseen their expansion to cover nearly all offshore asset types whilst developing a successful consultancy business advising owners, financiers and investors looking to capitalise on the current market situation. Prior to joining MSI, James worked as a market analyst at Clarksons Research, where he focused on the container sector and was heavily involved in developing their initial offshore analytical services. James holds an M.Sc. in International Trade, Finance and Development from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, a Graduate Diploma in Economics from Birkbeck College, London and an M.A. in Modern History from the University of Oxford. He is a member of the Baltic Exchange.

Based in Hong Kong, David Gore oversees Societe Generale’s Asset Finance businesses (including Aircraft, Export and Real Estate Finance businesses) in Asia Pacific David also directly manages the Asia Pacific Shipping Finance team of Societe Generale with an objective to lead the team in the origination and execution of a range of structured finance transactions for the shipping and offshore sectors. He leverages on the Bank’s global expertise in financing, advisory and capital markets to further grow SG’s long franchise and support its clients in structured finance in Asia Pacific. David has worked with Societe Generale in Hong Kong and Tokyo for the past 23 years across Energy, Project and Asset Finance and in that time has led numerous multi-award winning and ground-breaking financings as both Financial Advisor and/or as MLA.
 
Jigo Hayashi

Mr. Hayashi has over 25 years of banking and finance experience spanning Europe and Asia Pacific having held client facing roles in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, and New York. He began his professional career with J.P. Morgan in Tokyo and assumed important operating positions in the banking and shipping industry successively. Since joining Tokyo Century Corporation in 2017, Mr. Hayashi has responsibility for establishing, leading and expanding the Company's ship finance business throughout Europe and North/South Asia providing solutions to the Company's non-Japanese client universe. A primary focus is managing key relationships in the sector. A Certified Treasury Professional, he earned Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University in Australia and BA degree from International Christian University in Japan.

Guy Hindley is Managing Partner of the Dry Cargo Division of Howe Robinson Partners. Formed in London in 1883 Howe Robinson was grown to become one of the largest fully integrated international Shipbroking Houses. Dry is Howe Robinson’s the largest division with 145 staff based in a global network of 11 offices. Guy has spent his career specialising in Dry Cargo transportation and has an in-depth knowledge of chartering as well as other related project and sale and purchase business. He directs the Dry Cargo Research team based in London and Singapore who offer a range of bespoke reports and services covering all aspects of the Dry Bulk commodity and freight market. Guy is also a serving member of the Baltic Exchange Council.

Presently, he is also the CTO of Mitsubishi Shipbuilding and Senior Vice President of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

Kenta Matsuzaka is the Managing Executive Officer of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL), responsible for the LNG Carrier Division and LNG Safety Management Division, as the Deputy Director General of Energy Transport Business Unit. He was appointed an Executive Officer in 2015, and General Manager of the LNG Carrier Division in 2014. In 2002, after 4 years in the Secretaries Office, Kenta first entered the LNG carrier business as a manager of the LNG Carrier Division. He moved up to general manager of the LNG Carrier Group B in the LNG Carrier Division later that year. In 2004, Kenta was transferred to Indonesia to lead an LNG project for HUMOLCO Trans Inc., a joint venture located in Jakarta. In 2008, he returned to MOL Tokyo headquarters to take the role of general manager of the Seafarer Group in the Marine Safety Division. Kenta returned to the LNG Carrier Division as general manager of the LNG Carrier Group A in 2012, and moved on to become General Manager of the division in 2014.

Promote R&D and innovation for safe, efficient and environmentally sound maritime transport, e.g., autonomous shipping and energy-saving ships. 2014 - 2017: Director, Shipbuilding Division, Maritime Bureau, MLIT Promote the sound development of shipbuilding, ship machinery and small craft industries and enhance their competitiveness; Promote and coordinate overseas projects, including ODA, relating to shipbuilding and ship machinery industries. 1990 -: As professional technical officer, he has devoted his career to various fields in the ministries related to ship and transport, including Japan Coast Guard, Ministry of Defense, Road Transport Bureau (MLIT) since joining Ministry of Transport in 1990.

Takashi Nakabe (“Nakabe”) joined Onomichi Dockyard Co., Ltd. in Japan (“ONOMICHI”) as deputy manager of Tokyo branch in 2001 and he has been president of ONOMICHI since 2009. He is also a board member of Saiki heavy Industries Co.,Ltd in Japan and Colombo Dockyard Plc. in Sri Lanka, which are subsidiary companies of ONOMICHI. Prior to ONOMICHI, Nakabe worked at Fuji Xerox for 7 years, from 1994 to 2001. He left Fuji Xerox to take over his family business in 2001. Nakabe is the fifth-generation president and his great-great-grandfather, who established the Hamane Syoten Co., Ltd, which is the predecessor of ONOMICHI. He graduated from the department of English and American literature of Tamagawa University.

For more than 3 decades, he has a rich career in shipbuilding, notably in 2009 he was appointed Vice President, Technical Division at Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering. In 2012, he assumed the role of Associate Officer, Ship Design Dept. at Sakaide Shipyard. He is currently the General Manager, Ship & Offshore Structure Company of Kawasaki Heavy Industries.

Oyvind Stordal is responsible for delivering effective digital proposition and strategies to support WSM’s goal to bring ship management into digital evolution. He is currently spearheading a few major digital initiatives to revolutionize ship management operations. Prior to WSM, he was working in Strategy M&A department in Wilh. Wilhelmsen Holding. He was instrumental in the development of the long term portfolio strategy for the Wilhelmsen group.
 
Yoshihito Takahashi

Mr Yoshihito Takahashi joined Idemitsu Kosan in 1991 right after he graduated from Waseda University. He was promoted to Deputy General Manager of the Supply & Trading division at Astomos Energy in 2007 and subsequently, he was appointed General Manager and Head of the Singapore Branch of Astomos Energy in 2012. After a 3 years stint, Mr. Takahashi assumed the role as General Manager of the International Business Division back in Japan. From April this year, he is Executive Officer and Deputy Chief Operating Officer at Astomos Energy Corporation.

Mr Wakimoto joined Iyo Bank in 2004. From 2014-2018, he was assigned to Imabari branch and played role in ship finance marketing and directly meeting with Imabari Owners. In 2018, he was transferred to Ship Finance Division, the bank's headquarter in credit assessment. He is now looking after maritime related loans arising from all the branches in and outside Japan.

Mr Yoshizaki joined Hiroshima Bank in 1993. Hiroshima Bank is a regional financial institution operating primarily Hiroshima, Okayama, Yamaguchi and Ehime Prefecture. From 2014 to 2018, he was in charge of ship finance at the Imabari branch. In 2017, Hiroshima Bank established Ship Finance Division where he is now the Deputy General Manager.
