TradeWinds convened in Hamburg, bringing together some of shipping's leading thinkers and players. The panels reflected on their experiences in managing fleets old and new, how expectations and strategies have shifted, and how to take the next steps in delivering the ultimate goal of a zero-carbon future.

Over 200 delegates met at the TradeWinds Shipowners Forum in September during the 2022 SMM in the Hamburg Messe & Congress Centre. The two-session event facilitated a frank discussion on strategies for cutting carbon pollution, which is now central to virtually all aspects of shipping. Customers demand it, financiers incentivize it, and employees feel good about it - yet complex hurdles remain. Technology is not quite ready, and much of the fuel is not yet available, which leaves the investment case incomplete, despite the best shipping markets since the financial crisis.
