We are back, live in Dubai and looking forward to welcoming the global Ship Recycling Specialists
The much anticipated TradeWinds Ship Recycling Forum returns as an in-person event in 2022. This forum is one of TradeWinds’ most important conferences; bringing the whole Ship Recycling industry together to discuss, debate and strategise the way forward amidst the complexities and changing landscape of the industry.
We are living and breathing an interesting era in history. As we learn to live with covid-19, there are gloomy clouds ahead of us with geo-political tensions, rising inflation and massive price fluctuation in many key sectors. It is normally very difficult to predict the volatility of the local markets due to their ever-fluctuating steel plate prices, but it is fair to say that the market looks a bit nervous thinking of stability. The ship recycling sector is experiencing a shortage of tonnage as some owners are reconsidering offloading their vessels with a spike in demand and at the same time metal price remains high. Fitch Ratings has raised its metals and mining price assumptions, reflecting increased post-pandemic demand, tight markets and short-term supply disruptions, particularly due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Some commodities also benefit from increased longer-term demand due to their role in global decarbonisation. Maersk has committed to only using steel that does not generate any carbon in its creation as we transition to a net zero steel industry.
This forum will address all topics which directly and indirectly effect the ship recycling industry.
Join us, as we bring together key industry leaders and experts over two days, on 18 and 19 October in Dubai to gain unparalleled insights, understanding of the regulations, technical knowledge and reputation risk assessment for profitable, safe and environmentally sound asset disposal.
